The La Vernia Veterans Monument
committee is proud to announce that In November 2008, a site was
donated by Don
Rackler,
owner of Jon Wayne Heating & Air Conditioning. The site is on Highway
87 at Chihuahua Street west. The monument will honor those who
have served our Nation in times of need. The hopes for the monument are as noble as
the sacrifices it will represent.

it will be removed.
Representation in the project is open to anyone who feels a closeness to La
Vernia. In other words, the veteran did not have to live in La Vernia
per se. Many people have a special attachment to La Vernia even if
they did not actually live here.
The design for the monument is the next step. Experts will be
consulted. The committee wants the monument to include a place for
personalization so that individuals may include their veteran's name on the
monument.
If you wish
to have your veteran memorialized on this monument, please watch this
website. Announcements regarding the development of this monument will
be posted here as soon as it is approved by the association.
If you are interested in participating in this process, please
