Two LVISD students whose History Fair project
went to the National Level in Washington D.C.,
presented their documentary,
"signs of change - a stand for beauty"
about lady bird johnson's commitment to
the 1965 beautification act
support our local
History fair students!

For this meeting only, we met in
the la vernia heritage museum
at Hwy 87 and FM 775,
instead of brahan lodge.
Our speaker was Dr. Gregory Haag,
former President of the Art History Music And
Theatre Association (AHMATA) in
Camp Wood/Barksdale, Texas.
That organization is currently building a
$500,000 facility in a community
of less than 1000 people.
His inspiring program was,
"How to Make Your Museum Grow, Grow, Grow!"

The speaker will be Nancy Clarke,
Director of the
Sam Fore, Jr. Wilson County Public Library
"Searching Wilson County Records"
Clarke,
a Stockdale native, has a
Master of Library Science from
the Texas Women's University.
She has been an avid genealogist since 1972.
She has lived near Houston where
she served as a librarian,
an abstractor for public records
and a legal assistant.
She now lives in her 100 year old family home
in Stockdale.
She has recently joined the
Wilson County library
and says, "I am enjoying
being back in Wilson County.
I love the people and the library here."
The meeting is free and open
to the public.
